Journal 35: Interview with Mónica Sada
Mónica, who decided to make a professional change motivated by her own skin challenges. She founded Unicskin with the idea of combining high-efficacy dermocosmetics and technology in skincare devices accessible for home use. The brand has expanded internationally, reaching over 100 markets.
What was the first moment you dreamed of creating something of your own?
“UNICSKIN was born from my own skin problems. The idea began in New York, working side by side with top dermatologists and testing protocols that transformed my skin. Upon returning to Madrid I decided to launch the brand and unite everything learned in NY with a clinical, practical vision and measurable results.”
What inspires you when creating new products?
“Listening to people and their real rhythms: travel, stress, lack of time. I formulate for concrete needs, not for trends. Science applied with clinical rigour and total usability.”
What is your favourite product from UNICSKIN and why?
“The UNICLED Centurion Korean Mask and our iconic serums. The mask symbolises our promise to bring the clinic to the home with validated technology. The serums are the daily engine: high concentration, stability and visible efficacy.”
Is there a daily routine you never skip?
“My night ritual. Deep cleansing, LED light treatment and a hydration that combines antioxidant and repairing actives. It’s my moment of total disconnection and reconnection with myself. No matter where I am, that routine travels with me.”
What place in the world would you like to explore wearing your friulane?
“Japan. I’m inspired by its balance between tradition, precision and silence. Walking through Kyoto in Cayumas would be the perfect mix of comfort, elegance and respect for the little details.”
A book that has marked you or you particularly like?
“Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. It reminds me that even in the most extreme adversity, there is always a space to choose how to respond. It’s a book that teaches resilience, purpose and inner balance—values that also guide my work.”
What are your perfect Cayumas?
“Neutral, versatile and timeless. From the airport to the meeting and to dinner without changing look. Effortless elegance.”
