Journal 76: Interview with Sofía Anguiano

Journal 76: Entrevista a Sofía Anguiano

Sofía Anguiano is a content creator and influencer specializing in fashion, lifestyle, and travel, known for sharing a cosmopolitan perspective that bridges her Latin American roots with international experiences.

You define yourself as “the Milanese Mexican.” How has that identity evolved since you arrived in Italy, and what aspects of Mexico do you still carry with you every day?

“It’s inevitable that a new city changes the way you dress and live. I am still completely Mexican—eating at 3 p.m. and putting lime on everything—but now I also know that a foulard can save any outfit, and that everything I wear has to be able to go from a work meeting to aperitivo without changing, because that’s Milan. Unpredictable but always effortless.”

What does “timeless fashion” mean to you in 3 words?

“To be chic while wearing quality and versatility.”

What place in the world would you like to explore wearing your friulane shoes?

“In my daily life, I use friulane shoes for everything—they are the shoes I wear to go to the market, for coffee, and to walk around Milan. Now I would like to explore the historic center of my hometown, Guadalajara. To take something that was born in Italy and feels completely at home in Mexico with me.”

What importance do you give to shoes in your everyday life?

“Shoes can make or break an outfit. My mother has always told me that class shows in your shoes. As I grow older, I realize that a shoe also has to grow with you, which is why it’s important to invest in quality and timelessness. Cayumas friulane reflect exactly that: a piece with history, craftsmanship, and something truly timeless.”
