Journal 14: Interview with Natalia Cebrián

Journal 14: Entrevista a Natalia Cebrián
Natalia is an image consultant and content creator, passionate about helping real women look and feel their best. She shares easy-to-follow style tips every day, always with a practical and down-to-earth approach. She believes that dressing well isn’t about size or age, but about knowing yourself. Her motto: feeling good in what you wear can change your whole day.

What’s your take on slow fashion and craftsmanship in times of immediacy?

"I believe that today, more than ever, slow fashion and craftsmanship are regaining the importance they deserve. After years of fast fashion and even dressing alike, individuality is now a highly valued trait. That’s why brands with strong storytelling, background, and a story to tell are so in vogue."

What’s a lesson from your journey as a creator that always stays with you?
"For me, the key is to stay true to yourself in every aspect: from the way you dress, to how you communicate and define your goals. It’s a principle I’ve applied since day one and it has helped me a lot when choosing or turning down a campaign. I believe people want to follow someone genuine and, above all, being a good person is fundamental to me."
How do you translate a trend into something that feels like your own?
"With time and age, you learn to know what suits you and what doesn’t. You know you’ve found your style when you can look at trends and decide whether they align with your own aesthetic and whether they flatter you. Those are my two main criteria."

What makes No Tengo Nada Que Ponerme different from other fashion books?
"Before writing it, I did extensive research and the truth is, many books about image consulting or personal style were outdated, not just in terms of content but also aesthetically. No Tengo Nada Que Ponerme is easy to read, interactive (it has QR codes that link to videos), practical (from illustrations to exercises), and… it’s also very beautiful! So it’s not just a manual you read and forget; it can also decorate your space, and I want it to be that guide you can go back to every time you have doubts."

Is there a key takeaway from the book that you’d love for everyone to apply in their daily lives?
"For me, the biggest takeaway goes beyond finding or defining your style it’s the idea that we always have the chance to start over: to decide who you want to be, how you want to present yourself, and how you want others to see you. When you understand that clothing is a tool that works in your favor and is your calling card, everything starts to make sense. That’s why we begin in Chapter 1 with coaching, and only then move on to applying image consulting tools like face shape analysis, body morphology, or color theory. If you don’t work on your inner self, it’s impossible to achieve lasting results on the outside."

How important are shoes in your daily life?
"Most of the time, I build my looks starting with the shoes based on my agenda: whether I’ll be walking around a lot, taking a flight… Also, when I designed my closet, I knew I needed space for shoes because… I have hundreds!"

Where in the world would you love to go wearing your friulane shoes?
"Without a doubt, Peru. Next year I have a wedding there, and it’ll be my first time visiting Lima and Machu Picchu, so I can’t wait to bring them with me on this adventure."

What’s your favorite hotel?
"There are two hotels that, to me, are truly unique in the world: Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes and Belmond Splendido in Portofino. They are places that have preserved their original charm and are an absolute dream."

Which are your favorite Cayumas?
"Definitely the Loro Piana model I chose for this shoot. I’d been wanting them for so long, and I think they’re a fantastic idea. Plus, they’re incredibly comfortable!!!"
